True North cruising beneath twin waterfalls in a red sandstone gorge in the Kimberley

Vessel

True North

A purpose-built adventure ship designed to reach deep into the Kimberley’s rivers and remote coastline.

Why we chose them

In the collection for a reason

True North pairs genuine expedition capability with the comfort of a fine hotel. Purpose-built with a shallow draught, she can travel far up the Kimberley’s river systems, so the wilderness is often just steps from your cabin. A fleet of adventure boats and, on most itineraries, an onboard helicopter open up even more of the region, while a young, enthusiastic Australian crew guides, hosts and looks after every guest throughout the voyage.

Helicopter and adventure boats

Six adventure boats let guests fish, explore and go ashore on their own schedule, and most itineraries include an onboard helicopter for flights to remote falls, rock art and secluded fishing spots.

Built for shallow rivers

With a draught of just 2.2 metres, True North can navigate the upper reaches of rivers that larger ships can’t reach, anchoring among the gorges and mangroves that define the Kimberley.
